Synthesis of unsaturated polyester resin (UPR): Succinic anhydride is a key monomer in the production of unsaturated polyester resin. It is copolymerized with maleic anhydride (maleic anhydride) to give the resin excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in glass fiber reinforced plastics (FRP), automotive parts, pipelines and building composite materials.

Epoxy resin curing agent: As an anhydride curing agent, succinic anhydride cross-links with epoxy groups through a ring-opening reaction to form a high-temperature and chemical-resistant epoxy resin system, which is used for electronic packaging, insulating coatings and adhesives.

Surfactants and ester derivatives: Succinic acid monoesters or diesters (such as dimethyl succinate) are generated through esterification reactions and are used to prepare biodegradable green surfactants, lubricants and plasticizers.

Drug synthesis intermediates: Used in the synthesis of antibiotics (such as cephalosporins), vitamins (such as vitamin A/E) and anti-tumor drugs, and active groups are introduced or drug solubility is improved through acylation reactions.

Plant growth regulators: Succinic acid derivatives can regulate crop metabolism, promote root development and stress resistance.
